History will be made in the 11.15 session when Ireland compete in their first ever Para International Competition with the VI Mixed Pair of Billy Finnegan & Liz Thompson taking on Israel.

Irelands first PARA venture into the Bowls Europe Championships 2024 begins today, at 11.15am, with our MIxed VI pair playing Israel, followed by our Men’s pair playing Scotland, at 2pm. Both teams play again at 16.45pm.

The Irish Girls won the group and go straight into the semi-finals

Ladies Triples (R.Cochrane, L.Reaney & C.Wilson)

v Isle of Man won 15-11

The Irish Triple have topped their group with one game still to play and qualify for the semi-final tomorrow.

The Men’s Four of R.McElroy, S.Martin, J.Moffett & M.Wilson were also confirmed as semi-finalists as the best second place team in the qualifying groups.

Mens Singles (S.Leonard)

v Falkland Islands won 21-8

Shane looks as if he will miss out on qualification on shot difference despite only 1 defeat by 2 shots. Shane played really well and defeated England and Wales in a very tough group.

Men’s Para Pairs (G.Kaufmann & B.Smyth)

v Scotland lost 9-15

Creditable first performance by Glenn and Brian against a top Para Pair.
