Commonwealth Games Update – Day 4

Day 4 saw the semi-finals of the ladies singles and men’s pairs and Northern Ireland’s focus was in the Men’s Pairs where we were represented by Sam Barkley and Marty McHugh who were taking on Daniel Salmon and Jarryd Breen from Wales. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be as they fell to a disapointing 22 -15 defeat. They still have hope in the bronze medal match tomorrow morning where they will face Paul Foster and Alex Marshall of Scotland.

The Ladies Pairs and Fours also start tomorrow morning with games against England and Falkland islands respectively. Later tomorrow the Gary Kelly opens his campaign in the Men’s Singles against Norfolk Islands and the Men’s Fours start against Canada in a match which could be pivotal for qualification.
