British Isles International’s new format started this morning and will continue until Sunday.
Each country has two teams of ten playing in Singles, Pairs, Triples and Rinks.
Both men’s and Ladies’ teams compete.
Two points are awarded for each win, with an additional two points for an overall win, giving a possible total of ten points for each game.

British Isles International Series Day 1
The British Isles International Series commenced today at a very wet Northfield Ayr.
The first series of games saw the Irish Shamrock teams taking on Jersey. The men secured a big win of 10-0 (winning all four disciplines). On the other hand, the ladies were beaten 8-2, with only Sandra Bailie’s rink securing a win.
The 2nd session saw the Irish Emeralds playing a strong Scottish Thistle team. Again the men were involved in a very close contest, with Scotland winning by a few shots and securing a 6-4 win. The ladies, on the other hand, fell to a 10- 0 defeat.
The 3rd and final session saw the Irish Shamrocks playing a strong England Eagles team. The Men’s game went to the very last bowl, with Ireland prevailing by a single shot and securing a 6-4 win. Again the Ladies’ team fell to a 10-0 defeat.
Ireland does not play again until the 2nd Session tomorrow when the Ireland Emeralds take on the Scottish Saltires.
